Here are the details of some recent events we've attended.

  • No Child Gets Left Behind #OurTown -  28th January 2019

Sarah Scott, Director of Public Health presented at this Cheltenham based event. Find out more here>>

  • Virtual School designated teacher training day -  17th January 2019

Dr. Tanya Richardson and Imelda Bennett presented on ACEs and the health impact of trauma on children development. Over 120 teachers attended.

  • Bristol ACEs Strategy - 17th January 2019

Gloucestershire ACEs specialists attended Bristol's first conference on ACEs, opened by Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol.

  • Mental Health Trailblazer - 11th January 2019

Gloucestershire Mental Health Trailblazer workshop was hosted by NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, 2gether NHS Foundation Trust, Gloucestershire County Council and local charity TIC+. Gloucestershire has been awarded £5.5Million to set up four Mental Health Support Teams in a number of schools across the county, including primary, secondary, special schools and other settings. The new teams start work in Spring 2019 and will work within schools to identify children who need emotional support. They will also work with staff and parents to give them the skills they need to deal with mental health issues.  https://www.gloucestershireccg.nhs.uk/gloucestershire-secures-5m-to-improve-mental-health-support-for-school-children/

  • South Gloucestershire Council - 22nd November 2018

ACEs informed system event covering a fantastic resource called Trello, a new ACEs resource library. The library includes the latest research papers coming out of Wales,  as well as TED Talks and animations. The Trello ACEs library can be accessed here>>

  • North Somerset Council - 21st November 2018

They have invested in several days of training for staff with Dr Karen Treisman around trauma informed approaches, and invited representatives from Gloucestershire  Public Health to attend.

  • Police and Partners Early Action Together Conference – 13/14 November 2018

Tim Wood and the team attended the  Early Action Together Conference in Cardiff. The conference showcased some of the work of the Early Action Together programme including research and evidence, and building an ACE-aware and trauma informed workforce across policing and criminal justice in Wales through the ACE TIME training programme. For further information https://www.aceawarewales.com/resources

  • Gloucestershire Constabulary ACEs awareness sessions

Gloucestershire Constabulary has also been delivering ACE awareness sessions to settings across the county, from schools to early help; educational psychologists to community partners.  Between October 2018 and February 2018 they delivered sessions to almost 800 people.
