Resilience film screenings

We have now completed all of our free screenings of the Resilience Documentary. If you have attended a screening but not yet filled in our survey, please do so here

More than 1,000 people have now watched the film across Gloucestershire. Beginning with our first screening at our More than ACEs Conference in Cheltenham in November 2018, we toured the county, visiting each district to share the film and host discussions on the impact an ACEs informed approach could have on our everyday lives. Thank you to all the venues that welcomed us and to everyone who attended, presented or responded to questions. We have visited eight venues in total:

  • Cheltenham Double Tree Hilton - November 2018
  • Stroud Subscription Rooms - December 2018
  • Cirencester Sundial Theatre - January 2019
  • Dean Academy, Lydney - February 2019
  • Gloucestershire County Council Members' screening (internal) - March 2019
  • Cheltenham Pittville Pump Rooms, as part of the No Child Left Behind event - April 2019
  • Tewkesbury Roses Theatre - May 2019
  • Gloucestershire University Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester - July 2019

There are no more screenings currently planned, but to receive alerts first, please sign up to our Action on ACEs quarterly newsletter, by emailing

About the film

Directed by James Redford, the film centres on the biological effects of ACEs and features professionals and communities working to overcome established harm. We encourage all individuals who are interested, or who are in the fields of health, education, childcare, housing, voluntary and community organisations, parents and community members to attend. The film lasts for one hour, followed by a facilitated discussion about the film, the impact of ACEs and the opportunity we have to create change here in Gloucestershire.
